The media, business, and entrepreneurial communities of New York are mourning the sudden loss of Heidi J. Diamond, a dynamic leader whose career spanned some of the most influential companies in broadcast, digital media, health, marketing, and venture development. Diamond, who worked in angel investing as a Limited Partner and Venture Partner and served as CEO of Diamond Enterprises, Future Value, passed away unexpectedly, leaving friends, colleagues, and mentees stunned and heartbroken.
Diamond’s career reflected an extraordinary range of executive leadership roles across major national brands. She previously held distribution, licensing, growth, and partnership leadership positions at GoodRx and served as an adjunct professor at LIM College. Earlier in her career, she worked as a project manager at Nanhi Kali and held pivotal roles at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, including President of Broadcast. She also served as Executive Vice President at GSN, as well as Executive Vice President with Cablevision/AMC Networks/Rainbow Media. Her extensive experience included senior leadership positions at Scripps Networks/Food Network, Americast/Ameritech, and K111/KKR, where she brought her talents to marketing and promotions at the executive level.
Her educational path was just as impressive. Diamond studied journalism at both Boston University and the University of Maryland, College Park, graduated from John F. Kennedy High School, and earned an MBA in International Business from American University. She was originally from Silver Spring, Maryland, but became a well-known figure in New York’s media, venture, and entrepreneurial circles.
The outpouring of grief from friends and colleagues underscores the personal impact she made on countless lives. Paula Weiner offered a heartfelt tribute, writing, “I’m shocked and heartbroken Heidi Diamond has passed. She leaves us with her kind, warm, and supportive energy, along with her rare zest for life… Heidi will be deeply missed as she leaves all the lives she touched better for having known her.”
Jessica Rosenberg Schwartz, who credited Diamond with launching her career, shared a deeply personal remembrance. “Heidi changed the course of my life. She gave me my very first internship at the Food Network — a short moment in time that sparked my lifelong love of marketing. She believed in me early on, and that kind of belief stays with you… I’ll miss her more than I can say.”
Longtime friend Jeanne Meyer reflected on both Diamond’s professional brilliance and her vibrant approach to life. “Heidi: the epitome of life, health, humor… a champion of and mentor to entrepreneurs,” Meyer wrote. She recalled their many adventures, from tackling double black diamond ski runs to exploring New York’s hidden culinary gems. “I will miss our many drinks and lunch catch-ups… getting inspired by her mentorship of up-and-coming talent… being entertained with tales of globetrotting exploits that would make Samantha from Sex and the City look boring.”
Across industries and communities, the sentiments are the same: Heidi J. Diamond was a force — a leader, mentor, connector, adventurer, and loyal friend whose influence will continue to shape the people and careers she touched.
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced. Friends, family, and colleagues continue to honor her memory, sharing stories that reflect a life lived boldly, generously, and with unmistakable purpose.
